Job description: PricewaterhouseCoopers is a Enterprise environment with over 6000 workplaces +400 servers, +25 location in the Netherlands linked through a atm partial mesh wan.I am technical responsible for both the wan and the lan. I am also responsible for the lan design's (when opening a new location), security (802.1x investigation, ids implementation) and the troubleshooting incidents (member of incident response team). The wan / lan is a mixed solution based on Cisco and Nortel switches and routers (Cisco 2900, 4000, 4500, 5550 , 6000 switches and Nortel baystack 470 and passport 8006 switches / routers). Part of my technical responsibilities (operational and design) included DNS (bind / windows 2000), a number of firewall's (Linux, Netscreen, Fortynet and Bordermanager) and the proxy server's (Netscape)Next to my operational tasks I also did a lot of technical research.I was/ am lead engineer in regards to the development and implantation of wireless networking within PricewaterhouseCoopers nl. I preformed in-depth research (and design) in regard to the following protocols: eap-peap, eap-tls , wep and wpa in combination with the Cisco Aironet 1200 and a windows 2003 infrastructure (radius / PKI)In my technical consultant role I advised PricewaterhouseCoopers how to start migrating the windows 2000 based server park to windows 2003 and how group policy's could benefit certain business goals. I also designed and managed a number of business unit specific windows 2000 and 2003 domains.Also part of my technical consultant role was a seat in the security incident response team, the prevention and (if failed) defence against worm, hack and virus attacks where part of this role. Job description: For Elan I was detached to an IBM costumer.This customer had (in Europe) + 30 site's with over 3000 workplaces and over a 100 serversI was responsible fot the daily operations (in regards to the centralised server environment (windows nt 4.0))These servers ran a number of applications where I was operational responsible for (exchange 5.5, proxy 2.0 and hp print server software).I also gave remote and onsite support and served as question bank for the second level personal located on-site.Next to this is had a consultant role in which I did an number of recommendations (security and performance enhancements) Also part of my consultant role was providing technical input in regards to major costumer projects (for example: roll out of client access software on more then 2000 workstation's and the domain integration project where we merged +30 individual windows nt4 domains in to 3 domains). This was a very international function and I spend more then 50% of my time outside the Netherlands.Non technical parts of my role where coaching second level and third level team members, writing technical proposals and improving IBM relations with local onsite support staff.
